How Many Calories Should I Be Eating?

Finding your unique daily caloric intake number starts with a measurement of your lean muscle mass percentage. Your BOD POD results are used to calculate metabolic numbers like Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) & Total Energy Expenditure (TEE). Your RMR determines how much energy your body uses to support its basic functions. TEE is an estimate based on your RMR and daily activity level, of how many calories you burn in a given day.

Burning more calories than you take in is what leads to weight loss.

The caveat to this discussion is that all calories are not created equally. In other words, a 400 calorie meal of chicken and vegetables is better for you than 400 calories of cupcakes. Start by making healthy food choices and staying active, and tweak your lifestyle from there to meet your goals.
